The box turtles at our house have, well, time on their hands. Here’s how they fill some of it.

- These were some of the first tortoises Allen took in when he was the Turtle Society’s adoption chairperson. He woke me at one am to cries of “The turtles are mating! The turtles are mating! Come see!”
- This position is just wrong. Who knew turtles could be so kinky?
- This is how it’s done. She could fall asleep this way–for hours. Since his legs are held fast by her shell, he’s stuck until she decides to let him go.
